SCOTLAND'S STIRRING HISTORY RE-LIVED AT CRAIGMILLAR

SCOTLAND'S STIRRING HISTORY RE-LIVED AT CRAIGMILLAR

With the famous Sir Frank Benson as pageant-master one of the most ambitious of pageants was held amid the historic surroundings of Craigmillar Castle in 1927. The great interest here was that the parts of many of the historical personages represented were played by their actual descendants, or, at the least, by those whose ancestors had taken a great part in Scottish history. The lower view shows Mary, Queen of Scots, played by the Countess of Stair, while above we see the Marquess of Queensberry as James IV.
