RUINS OF WILMINGTON PRIORY, NEAR EASTBOURNE

RUINS OF WILMINGTON PRIORY, NEAR EASTBOURNE

The remains of Wilmington Priory, seven miles from Eastbourne, recall the legend that it was the monks of this place who fashioned "The Long Man of Wilmington" in the chalk face of the downs. The gatehouse is now incorporated with a farmhouse. The priory was a cell of Grastain in Normandy.
