THORNYCROFT STATUE OF OLIVER CROMWELL, THAT STANDS OUTSIDE WESTMINSTER HALL

That maker of so many fine posthumous and other statues, the late Sir Hamo Thornycroft, was responsible for that of Oliver Cromwell represented in this photograph. This noble figure, which stands outside Westminster Hall, bordering on Parliamenl Square, where many famous legislators are represented in effigy, was presented by the Earl of Rosebery. Another famous monument to the Lord Protector is the bronze statue in Victoria Street, Manchester, which was the work of Matthew Noble.
