A HERO OF THE ANTARCTIC. CAPTAIN SCOTT'S MONUMENT IN WATERLOO PLACE

On the east side of that square of statues, Waterloo Place, stands the above monument to Captain Robert F. Scott hero and victim of the. Few have forgotten the tragedy of 1912 when Scott and two others-all that remained of his gallant band-perished of starvation and exposure in a blizzard when only ten miles from their depot. The statue was the work of his widow, Lady Scott Erected by officers of tie Meet, it stands as a notable token of the brotherhood of the Sea.
