NORTHERN SECTION OF OFFA'S DYKE WHERE IT PASSES THROUGH THE TOWN OF RUABON

On its winding course o'er hill and valley from the Severn to the Cheshire Dee, Offa's Dyke passes through the mining town of Ruabon in Denbighshire. A very well-marked section of the great embankment is seen in this photograph. Here it blends queerly with the signs of industrial activity that, like itself, have become part of the landscape at this spot; one would hardly suspect at a short distance that its age was greater than that of any slag or shale dump created by modern toil.
