THE STATELY CHURCH OF S. PETER, WOLVERHAMPTON

THE STATELY CHURCH OF S. PETER, WOLVERHAMPTON

The church of S. Peter, on the edge of Queen's Square, Wolverhampton, is one of the Perpendicular period, and contains several noble monuments. A fifteenth century pulpit of stone, and the tomb of Colonel John Lane (who helped Charles II to escape after the Battle of Worcester) are among its treasures.
