CASTLE RUSHEN, ISLE OF MAN, WHICH THE GHOST OF A GIANT IS SAID TO HAUNT

CASTLE RUSHEN, ISLE OF MAN, WHICH THE GHOST OF A GIANT IS SAID TO HAUNT

Castle Rushen, at Castletown, Isle of Man, is stated to possess a subterranean mystery room which cannot be exactly located but is said to be visited by the ghost of one of those giants who, according to Arthurian legend, were driven out of the island by Merlin. There was a Viking castle before the present one, which dates from 1344 and was originally the residence of the Kings of Man; but the giants' castle, if such existed, must have belonged to a far more distant and misty past.
