FISHMONGERS' HALL, UPPER THAMES STREET, LONDON

FISHMONGERS' HALL, UPPER THAMES STREET, LONDON

This palatial building is the headquarters of a City Company that can boast a very ancient lineage, for it was in the twelfth century that its foundation was made by the Fraternity of S. Peter. The Guild, however, obtained its Charter in 1364. The present hall (1831-33) had two predecessors on a site near by, the first of which was destroyed in 1662.
