A BEEHIVE CELL ON THE SKELLIGS

A BEEHIVE CELL ON THE SKELLIGS

The Skellig rocks lie off Bolus Head, and the remarkable beehive cell seen in the photograph, showing the entrance and projecting stones, is perched on one of these desolate sea-girt crags facing the Atlantic seas. This is one of the many retreats of the holy men that are to be seen in Ireland.
