NOTTINGHAM'S PROUD AND SPLENDID MEMORIALS: THE VICTORY AT LEEDS

Occupying a large site in the Rock Garden and Recreation Grounds overlooking the river Trent Nottingham's Arch and Colonnade of Remembrance (bottom) are a splendid example of civic munificence; while in the statue to Albert Ball V C (top left), honour is paid to one of the city's intrepid sons, well remembered as the most famous British Ace of the Air. The Winged Victory at Leeds (top right), crowning white Carrara marble, is the work of Mr. H. C. Fehr, the sculptor of the Colchester monument.
