THE WAR CROSS AT CHESTER CATHEDRAL

THE WAR CROSS AT CHESTER CATHEDRAL

Erected opposite the south porch of the cathedral, the Cross at Chester, with its sculptured base, is a beautiful example of modern Gothic, reverent in its craftsmanship. In order to harmonise with the deep red sandstone of its cathedral setting it has been built of the same material, and the warmth of colour is very attractive.
