GLASGOW'S CENOTAPH. AND THE NEW EXTENSION TO THE ABERDEEN ART GALLERY

GLASGOW'S CENOTAPH. AND THE NEW EXTENSION TO THE ABERDEEN ART GALLERY

Against the classical background of the Municipal Buildings the Glasgow Cenotaph (bottom) conveys dignity and strength. It will be seen that just above the dedicatory inscription on the front are sculptured the city arms; on the farther side are the Imperial Arms and an inscription recalling that the city contributed more than 200,000 men to the Forces. The extension to the Art Galleries-which constituted Aberdeen's War Memorial (top) was designed by Messrs. A. M. and A. G. N. Mackenzie.
