WILTSHIRE RECTORY ASSOCIATED WITH ADDISON

WILTSHIRE RECTORY ASSOCIATED WITH ADDISON

Near Amesbury, Wiltshire, the town from which most visitors to Stonehenge set out, is the village of Milston, and in the rectory there the essayist, poet and statesman, Joseph Addison, was born May 1, 1672. His father had only been appointed to the living in the previous year. Joseph was at school both at Amesbury and Salisbury before he went to Charterhouse.
