BATH'S FAMED PUMP ROOM AND ITS BEAUTIFUL ABBEY CHURCH

BATH'S FAMED PUMP ROOM AND ITS BEAUTIFUL ABBEY CHURCH

Bath possesses the only really hot springs in Britain, and it is to these that the city primarily owes its fame. The site of the entrance which we see here was m the eighteenth century, the most fashionable rendezvous in the country. The Pump Room itself was rebuilt in 1796 by Palmer, and on the architrave to the right is the three-word motto in Greek, which signifies that there is nothing better than water In the background is the Abbey Church with its splendid West Window.
