THE COPIOUS BISHOP'S BARN AT WELLS

THE COPIOUS BISHOP'S BARN AT WELLS

Ecclesiastical influence is obvious in the building of the Bishop's barn at Wells. It was put up in the first part of the fifteenth century, probably under the auspices of Bishop Bubwith, who died in 1424 and founded the almshouses still to be seen near here and named after him.
