WATERLOOVILLE, WHICH TOOK ITS NAME FROM AN INN

On the far side of Butser Hill the road meets the tramline from Cosham at Horndean and follows it through Cow Plain to Waterlooville, which took its name from an inn called the Heroes of Waterloo. The inn is now rebuilt, and its four gables appear on the left beyond the Clock Tower, which is a War Memorial.
