ABBEY CHURCH OF MALMESBURY SAVED BY USE FROM FURTHER RUIN

ABBEY CHURCH OF MALMESBURY SAVED BY USE FROM FURTHER RUIN

The present east end of the church, which is walled up, once gave on to the space under the central tower, one of whose arches remains intact, faithfully supporting some tons of masonry. The main part of the nave is transitional Norman, and there is a very fine Norman south pored with elaborately ornamented outer and inner doorways.
