SAXON TOWER OF ST. BENET'S, CAMBRIDGE

SAXON TOWER OF ST. BENET'S, CAMBRIDGE

The Saxons had a building style of their own, but examples are now rare. The tower of St. Benet's church, Cambridge, stands at the corner of Benet Street and Free School Lane. Notice the "long-and-short-work" on the corners of the tower.
