THE WYE FROM SYMONDS YAT AND THE THAMES FROM AN AEROPLANE

THE WYE FROM SYMONDS YAT AND THE THAMES FROM AN AEROPLANE

Symoncls Yat (bottom) rises 740 feet above sea-level beside a beautiful bend in the river Wye, in Monmouthshire. This is the most famous beauty spot on the river. The aeroplane gives us a more precipitous angle still from which to view the Thames just above Windsor (top). The railway from Slough crosses just here, and on the left is the road going towards Maidenhead. A little way beyond the bridge the river turns sharply to the right and directly across that reach is the Windsor racecourse.
