BELL TOWER AT NEW COLLEGE

BELL TOWER AT NEW COLLEGE

A curious feature of New College is the Wykeham Bell Tower, named after the founder. It seems to have been built with an eye for defence, for its entrance was originally only approachable by a ladder. It was completed, with the Cloisters, about 1400.
