AMERICAN SHRINES AT GAINSBOROUGH, LONDON AND SOUTHAMPTON

One of the chief centres of the movement which led to the sailing of the Pilgrim Fathers was Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, where the Robinson Memorial Chapel (bottom) commemorates them. At a house in Craven Street, Strand, London (top left), a tablet records that Benjamin Franklin lived there; while Southampton (top right) has a memorial to the Mayflower expedition.
