BROTHERS' DINING HALL AT S. CROSS, WINCHESTER

BROTHERS' DINING HALL AT S. CROSS, WINCHESTER

The "Hundred Mennes Hall," as the dining room of the hospital was called, is shown to visitors, like the rest of the buildings, by one of the Brethren, who points out with proper pride the great oak tables and the great tankards designed, and still used, for the inmates of this, the oldest almshouse in England. The kitchens which adjoin are on the same capacious scale.
